Hi there. My name is Michael.
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, a trauma survivor, and a neurodivergent person living with a physical disability. My curiosity about life experiences, enjoyment in meeting new people, and passion for deep and meaningful conversations led me to my career in counselling.
When I’m not working or honing my craft, I enjoy various creative pursuits that help me foster a life filled with meaning. You might find me hiking and taking photos (such as the ones here, unless otherwise indicated!), writing, playing the trombone, training in martial arts, or enjoying a peaceful moment on a park bench that caught my eye for its sentimental inscription.

You’re experiencing relationship conflict, or you’re feeling distant from your partner. Perhaps the issue is sexuality, or finances, or family, or politics. I can share tools to observe how each partner influences the other with their behaviour, and how to address patterns that reduce reactivity and increase understanding and intimacy.
Maybe you feel a yearning to free yourself of negative childhood experiences that have haunted you into adulthood. Perhaps you find that they affect your adult relationships, too, leading you to withdraw, to fight, or open up too soon. I can share insights from my training in family systems theory to help you understand these experiences and break their hold on you so that you can live more freely in the present.
Maybe you notice cyclical patterns of behaviour, either alone or in a relationship, from which you’re yearning to break free. I can develop new habits and routines with you, rooted in your existing skills and strengths, that will give you a sense of empowerment and peace of mind.
