Who I work with.

I help people from many walks of life, and I’m fascinated by the human experience in general. In fact, my passion for learning about people was one reason I was drawn to counselling!

That said, my passion lies in helping neurodivergent individuals, people in conflict, and people grieving. Please scroll down to learn some ways in which I could help you in these areas.

If you’re neurodivergent...​​

Your mind goes 1000 miles an hour on cruise control, and you can remember a lot of the scenery. Still, you struggle to catch that roadside sign that says “remember so-and-so’s birthday,” or “answer the urgent email”- if your nervous system hasn’t spun you into exhaustion first! 

 

Maybe you try to be considerate in conversation, but somehow always “say the weird thing.”

 

Or your mind buzzes with a crippling, anxious haze in “normal” situations yet glides with ease through crises.

My name is Michael Toft, and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, as well as a neurodivergent person living with a physical disability. I have extensive training in multiple therapeutic approaches and a wealth of life and clinical experience that can help you find the solution you seek. ​When I’m not working or honing my craft, I enjoy various creative pursuits that help me foster a life filled with meaning. You might find me hiking and taking photos (such as the ones here, unless otherwise indicated!), writing, playing the trombone, training in martial arts, or enjoying a peaceful moment on a park bench that attracted me with a sentimental inscription.
